Biography

Sissy Eulenfeld is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who works with adults and couples. Clinical experience includes working with mandated clients in Fayette and Spalding County Drug Court. Client issues include substance abuse and/ or mental health issues. Sissy’s specialty area includes substance abuse/addiction, substance abuse aftercare, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and relationship conflict. Sissy and her husband have been married for 30 years and have 3 grown sons.

Sissy Eulenfeld Experience

Sissy’s work experience includes being the lead therapist and Assistant Court Coordinator for Spalding Adult Felony Drug Court Program. During this time she facilitated groups, provided individual therapy customized to fit the client, and couples therapy to address issues and improve relationships. Sissy collaborated monthly with the Drug Court team and Judges to determine best standard of care for all clients.

Education

Sissy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Clayton State University. She obtained a Master of Education in Professional Community Counseling from The University of West Georgia.  Training includes Seeking Safety (group and individual curriculum for Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Council on Accountability Court Judges training in Athens during 2016,2017,2018.

Style & Approach

Sissy is a client- centered Therapist who strives to be genuine, non-judgmental, and who seeks to understand the client and the client’s worldviews. Sissy believes it is important to establish an effective therapeutic relationship with the client.  She takes a collaborative approach with her clients to achieve all treatment goals.  Sissy believes that building trust and rapport are essential for change to occur. Treating clients with kindness and respect is a significant factor for positive change while empowering clients to do what they know is right for them. Sissy can use the following treatment modalities with clients: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Existential Philosophy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy.
