Surabhi McNab, LMFT
Surabhi McNab is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of Connecticut. Surabhi earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Certificate in Gestalt Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University. Surabhi enjoys working with adolescents, couples, families and individuals in their journey to become the best versions of themselves.
Surabhi began her clinical experience with an internship at the Yale Child Study Center and working with families in crisis. She continued to work with the Yale Child Study Center as a Clinician upon receiving her Master’s in Marriage Family Therapy. Surabhi went on to work in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, early intervention, working with children with disabilities and most recently working with Adolescents diagnosed with Eating Disorders.
Style and Therapeutic Approach
Surabhi draws from a variety of theories in her practice. When working with adolescents and individuals, she utilizes Gestalt, DBT and CBT perspectives to provide a safe and explorative atmosphere for client’s to address their treatment goals.
Surabhi is extensively trained in Structural Family Therapy and uses it’s techniques to help families communicate effectively and for parents to be able to provide a healthy and nurturing environment for their children.
