Disordered Eating

Disordered eating is a serious condition because it has both short-term and long-term affects on your body. According to the Mayo Clinic, the three most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder. We have seen these disorders in teen and young adults, but they can also be a problem well into adulthood. Symptoms typically include significant changes in eating patterns such as skipping meals or an overly excessive fixation on eating healthy, for example.

Couples Therapy

The key to couples therapy is discovering how reignite the desire to share life together. According to WebMD, studies show that, in the hands of a good counselor, couples counseling is successful 70- 80% of the time. At The Life Change Group, our licensed, expert counselors strive to provide an honest and safe environment to work through issues and find the best next steps for you and your spouse.

At The Life Change Group, we are committed to providing a safe space to help you explore how your experiences as an individual and a member of the LGBTQ+ community have affected your daily life and your ongoing journey.

Depression

Depression is a mood disorder where a person has a persistent feeling of sadness and lack of interest. Depression affects more than 20 million Americans each year. There are several types of depression, including: major depression, persistent depressive disorder, seasonal affective disorder, post-partum and bipolar disorder, among others. The Life Change Group is familiar with each facet of depression and has more than a decade of experience in dealing with these conditions.

Disabilities

Due in large part to negative attitudes and stereotypes of people with disabilities, 30% of students with disabilities drop out of high school and more than 40% fewer attend college. That is a heavy burden for this population. The Life Change Group is an ADA compliant office and we are strong advocates of this vital component of our local community.

Trauma and EMDR

Trauma can take many forms. Most people associate PTSD with trauma or perhaps the after affects of a sexual assault or deeply troubling accident. In the vast majority of these cases a great deal of pain is experienced and we have trouble dealing with and treating that suffering. But suffering from the pain of trauma is not a lifetime sentence. We don’t have to let it dominate our lives.

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse and addictions can take many forms. Most people initially think about addictions to drugs or alcohol – and rightly so since more than 23 million Americans have problems with alcohol or drugs. But addictive behaviors can include gambling, sex, Internet porn, food, compulsive shopping and even cosmetic surgery. At The Life Change Group, we understand the destructive nature that substance abuse and similar addictive disorders can have on families, marriages, children and communities.
