Jordan Bobbit, Counseling Intern

Biography

Jordan is a Master of Social Work student, with a clinical concentration, at the University of Pennsylvania. Following her graduation in 2023, she will pursue her License of Social Work (LSW) and her License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW). Jordan’s professional interests include working with people of all ages who have been impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, and other traumas. By engaging in trauma work, Jordan hopes to create a safe space for her clients to process, work through, and cope with their experiences.

Experience

As a first year MSW candidate, Jordan has gained experience working at an in-patient psychiatric and mental health hospital, a non-profit organization for folks who have experienced homelessness, and as a facilitator of support groups. Through these experiences, Jordan has crafted her approach to ensure that she is meeting people where they are in their journey today and not where they have been in the past.

Jordan has facilitated support groups and individual sessions around building toolkits for those experiencing anxiety and depression, suicidal ideation, disordered eating, and more. She has predominantly worked with adolescents (13-18 yrs. old) and adults (18+) but would love to expand on her experiences by working with families and couples.

Education

Jordan received a Bachelor of Science from the University of California- Davis, where she majored in Human development with dual minors in Education and Religious Studies. She utilizes her educational foundation in Education and Religious Studies in sessions by ensuring that your beliefs are rooted at the center of your work together.  She is currently pursuing her Master of Social at the University of Pennsylvania and is set to graduate in May of 2023.

Approach

Jordan aims to practice through a Trauma-Informed and Harm-Reduction lens. She aims to personalize each session by assessing your goals for your own journey and discovering how to safely enter a space of growth and healing together. There is no right or wrong, good or bad on this journey of growth- but together, Jordan hopes to support you in finding the path which feels best for you through this approach. As your provider, Jordan will be under the supervision of Dr. Wright to ensure that you are receiving the most comprehensive care to meet your needs.
