Disordered Eating
Disordered eating is a serious condition because it has both short-term and long-term affects on your body. According to the Mayo Clinic, the three most common eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder. We have seen these disorders in teens and young adults, but they can also be a problem well into adulthood. Symptoms typically include significant changes in eating patterns such as skipping meals or an overly excessive fixation on eating healthy, for example.
A change in beliefs about food and eating may also signal unhealthy eating behaviors. Support systems are so very important for individuals with an eating disorder, and can make the difference in terms of recovery and starting a new life change. At The Life Change Group we can work with you and/or your support group to identify the risk factors and lifestyle choices that can start you on your journey to change.
