Understanding ASD
Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is sometimes difficult for parents and caregivers. ASD is a developmental condition that affects how children communicate, interact socially, and respond to the world around them.
Causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder
While research is ongoing, science has uncovered a few key causes, including genetics, and neurological factors that contribute to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism symptoms in children typically begin before 3 and can last throughout a person's life, although symptoms may change over time. Some children show ASD symptoms within the first 12 months of life.
Autism Testing and Early Intervention
Autism testing and early intervention are among the most important steps for parents and caregivers to consider after recognizing potential signs. For parents, noticing developmental differences in their child can raise questions and concerns. Is this just a phase—or could it be Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?
